The mellow flavor of fish roe is maximized by marinating it in spices. SEARUBY was born as an update of Mentaiko, which has supported Japanese food culture for more than 70 years.The Mako, which is the lifeblood of Mentaiko, is selected for its rich flavor and graininess from the Bering Sea, and from Kojohama, Hokkaido, for its smooth texture, according to the intended use.
The seasoning liquid is colorant free, and a fresh flavor is achieved by mixing apples and carrots.

Mako, the lifeblood of Mentaiko, is selected mainly from the Bering Sea for its rich flavor and graininess. We also select producing areas from all over the world depending on use, such as Torazuhama, Hokkaido, which produce Mako that are smoother on the tongue and suited for products served in the form of paste.
The seasoning liquid contains apples and carrots for a refreshing flavor.
We insist on no coloring, and have made no compromises up to the container and wrapping paper.

Mako from the Bering Sea, with its creamy, rich flavor and bouncy graininess, is used in Mentaiko, Tarako, Wine Mentaiko, Kombu Mentaiko, and Sansho Mentaiko.

Wine Mentaiko uses carefully selected white wine from Napa, California, which boasts a subtle sweetness and freshness.

Hokkaido, Japan

Mako from Kojohama, Hokkaido, whose greatest feature is its silky texture, is used in Matcha Mentaiko and Curry Mentaiko which are enjoyed as a superb paste.

We make no compromises with the source of matcha, the quintessential Japanese green tea. Only matcha from Tsujiri in Kyoto is used in our Matcha Mentaiko.
